So cliché but yet is necessary
To want it when there is a drought
Then whine and complain that there's too much of it
Nothing is too much everything happens for a reason
The rains fall down to quench a parched land
Leaving a wake of floods and landslides behind her
Her majesty is in her wrath and the beauty is life that starts because of her
So be thankful for the thunderous volume of her being
She is doing what she does best
Our souls are richer and stronger because of her

Tinder
So with all this hype about online romance and jokes surrounding tinder pick up lines, I downloaded tinder Googled up a storm on pros and cons of using tinder. The biggest pro is your resource pool got bigger. The choices are endless. You define the age criteria and the range / distance from your location your set to go. Swipe left if you want to pass swipe right if dig the person. And the new option of super liking a person can just fast forward everything.
The traditional romantic in me would like to believe in love at first sight, the logical side of me knows the face /surface is skin deep. The flipside of tinder for me would be encouraging us to be more shallow and not allow us to look past "the face" what if we had swiped left our intellectual soul mate just because his / hair was messy or was wearing the wrong shirt with thoes trousers? Oh the horrors. Someone should invent an app for putting out interests hobbies and match based on common ground

Flight of birds
Birds of a feather fly in unison against the dark and grey sky
With the foreboding insight that a storm is approaching
Where will they go
Can they outfly the rains
How far will they go before knowing when to stop
The flight of birds bring these questions to mind
With the stark reminder of my grey skies ahead

Feasting
The month of fasting has started, with the general hunger pangs, another realisation dawns we eat too much. In addition to our 3 mains, we stuff our selves with food in between. Why are we hungry all the time? Or is it just we are bored and we munch away? Or do we see food get a craving eventhough we may not be hungry? Compensating on something else which food? Binging cause we are going through a roller-coaster of emotions? Or because it's just there?
All of these reasons are moot, we just eat too much. Sri Lankans are generously proportioned due to the staple of rice in our menu and the quantity we consume. The additional munching is bringing out obesity, for all the desk sitters out there.
If you can't exercise then you need to control your intake. Simple? And does that work?

Old vs new
So got my hands on a new phone. The first few day u get up early or sleep late trying to learn the ins and outs of the phone. A few days later u realise your using the new phone for the same things that you were using in the old phone.
So the investment in a phone more expensive and advanced may have not really changed anything. Oh yes it is wider, slimmer and my phone would be the centre of attraction with my friends and colleagues.... But then does it make life better?
Over the weekend I realised that I spent more time with my phone than my family. But on the flip side it also gave me an insight to what my brother's thinking, when he helped out with the decision, purchasing and use.
So buying the new phone was it really necessary? Was it just my pride to have the latest phone out there? Will it consume too much of my time? Help cement existing ties?

life begins now
After reading an article which mentioned at 30, you get 240 chances at sucess, (average of 3months per project) I decided to start using the left side of my brain and indulge in my life-long ambitions and dreams. Not wasting any time, through this blog I plan to start on writing anything that I feel needs to be out there

Twin Towers
My first overseas trip was to Malaysia via Singapore. The very first visit of which was to the Petronas twin towers. I was very curious to see the building which is synonymous with the country that I was visiting. Whilst waiting in line to use our passes we waited with many other nationals & Malaysians who were very eager to share their snacks along with information on the best places to visit, best bargain shopping malls, etc,.. Along with the varied other visitors we made our way up to the famed Sky Bridge where I had to literally hold my breath, at the awe inspiring view. It truly was a spectacular view which showcased Malaysia’s growth technological advancement, through the high rise buildings, religion art heritage through its beautiful mosques & landmarks and dotted with multicultural people who are friendly as well as proud of their heritage & country.
Through the successful emergence from a financial crisis Malaysia has gone from near ruin, to a developed nation akin to a phoenix rising from the ashes, the twin towers symbolizes the strength of the nation & its people. Petronas has truly created a landmark that represent Malaysia.
